How to Book Forbidden City Tickets (For Foreign Visitors)

Basic Rules First
No same-day tickets, no on-site ticket windows at all.
Tickets go on sale 7 days in advance, at 20:00 (8:00 PM Beijing Time).
Real-name booking with your passport is required.
Closed every Monday (except Chinese public holidays).
Official Booking Method (English Website, Recommended)

Click Tickets on the page.
Choose your visiting date (only dates with available tickets are clickable).
Fill in your real information:
Full name (same as your passport)
Passport number
Select ticket type: adult, student, senior, etc.
Complete online payment.
You will get an electronic ticket via email. Save it well.
On-the-Day Entry
Go to Meridian Gate (Wumen, the south entrance).
Show your original passport (the one you used for booking) to the staff for check-in.
No printed ticket is needed; passport verification is enough.
Important Tips
Daily tickets are limited and sell out very fast on weekends and holidays.
You can also add tickets for Treasure Gallery & Clock Gallery during booking.
A passport can only book one ticket per day.
Third-party tourist apps are not officially authorized, so use only the official website.
